A Letter to my 34-Year Old Self

3:29 PM

Hi Tricia!

You've always been blessed with amazing things. You had a good-paying job 10 years ago but you knew that you weren't someone who would for something just because it's safe. You take chances. You explore the unknown. Keep doing it.

How's the "I want to travel the world?" thing going, by the way? I hope you've seen a lot of different countries and cities by now. If you haven't, well it's never too late to start!

On another note, are you married? If you are, I hope he is the type of man you've always imagined him to be. I hope your relationship is epic. How about children? Don't forget to show them the letter you've written them years ago! I'm sure they are as amazing as you are. Take good care of them because someday, they're going to change the world like you did!

If you're still single, well, embrace singlehood! Remember that shit that we used to say when we were younger? Someone will come along and he will be worth the long damn wait.

If you are going through something, just hang in there but let yourself fall apart sometimes. It's okay to be sad. It's okay not to be okay. CRY WHEN YOU HAVE TO. But after you've let it all out, pick yourself up and carry on being the wonderful person that you are. Remember those things that didn't make sense in the past 10 years? You've braved your way through all of them because you are a warrior. I mean, come on, you've reached this far.

You've been doing great. And when people tell you otherwise, listen to what they have to say but do not allow them to make you feel bad about yourself. Maybe they're right, maybe you need improvement in some areas but their criticisms and comments about you should not make you feel less than Wonder Woman. You are incredible, you've always been.

Always,
Tricia from 10 years ago
